The Law School aims to be Scotland’s top law school, and one of the leading law schools in the UK and internationally by producing excellent research, quality teaching and learning experiences, and valuable knowledge. Above all we aim for transformation - of domains of knowledge, our students, the legal profession, the wider community and the law. Our commitment to excellence in both teaching and research is demonstrated by the recent official assessment of the quality of staff expertise (Research Assessment Exercise 2008) which saw the Law School graded amongst the very top flight of UK Law Schools.
For over 45 years the Law School has sought the best methods of providing legal education and research that meets the needs of students and the professions, and that is robust and relevant, so that students excel in an increasingly challenging world. Responding to student’s needs and key social and legal developments, the provision of innovative taught programmes is one of Strathclyde’s hallmarks - the LLM and Postgraduate Diploma in Construction Law being one such example.
