About this Seminar

Please join us for a deep dive into data centre risk considerations during the development stage. Chris Bickerstaff, Marsh Asia Construction leader, will discuss the risk universe from ground breaking until commercial operations, and explore some of the complexities of developer-operator-contractor relationships in regards to risk allocation and responsibilities. Chris will then share some industry best practices with regards to risk transfer solutions after these risks have been identified and allocated to the relevant parties.

About the Speaker

Mr. Chris Bickerstaff – Regional Construction Leader for Marsh Asia

Chris leads Marsh’s Construction Specialty Practice across Asia. Marsh provides insurance and risk advisory services for the full spectrum of onshore developments, with a particular focus on CMT & data centres. Involvement in projects begins as early as feasibility studies, and through the project lifecycle until divestment or decommissioning. Chris is based in Singapore, having spent five years in Jakarta and four years in Hong Kong beforehand. His areas of specialism include major civil engineering projects, energy, and power. Prior to Marsh, Chris worked for Jardine Matheson Group in a variety of finance & risk roles. He holds a BSc from University of Manchester, as well as being a qualified Chartered Management Accountant.

Adrian is a seasoned infrastructure lawyer. A Director at Prolegis LLC and Head of Projects for the Herbert Smith Freehills Prolegis Formal Law Alliance, Adrian is qualified in both English and Singapore law. He has provided comprehensive and integrated advice on all aspects of data centres project development as well as advice in relation to acquisitions and disposals. These include advising equity sponsors investing into data centre projects; lenders providing project financing (and other forms of financing) to projects, EPC/GC contractors, equipment suppliers and O&M service providers. Adrian has had practical experience across Asia, having worked for clients on projects in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Mongolia.
