About this Seminar

While Collaborative Contracting has been an buzz word in construction contracts and/or projects for several years now, the post COVID 19 conditions have brough this form of contracting, to the forefront. 

The speakers will share their views on such contracting primarily as members of the Singapore Academy of Law’s Building & Construction Subcommittee that in January 2022 released the Guide on Collaborative Contracting in the Construction Industry.

About the Speakers:
Mr. Sathiaseelan Jagateesan – Partner, Co-Head Construction & Engineering, Allen & Gledhill LLP

Sathia’s area of practice encompasses a wide range of contentious and non-contentious work in relation to the built environment.  Sathia is recommended for his expertise in both front-end work and disputes in leading legal publications, including, Legal 500 Asia Pacific, Chambers Asia-Pacific, asialaw Leading Lawyers and Benchmark Asia-Pacific.  Sathia is a board member of the Building and Construction Authority, adjunct faculty at the Singapore University of Social Sciences and a member of the Construction Adjudicator Accreditation Committee and the SAL Law Reform Committee for building and construction law.  Sathia has been appointed as arbitrator in ICC, SIAC and ad hoc international and domestic arbitrations and is an Accredited Mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre.

Mr. Eugene Seah – Global Board Member and Chief Operating Officer, Meinhardt Singapore

Eugene joined the construction industry in 1999. He graduated with a BSc in Quantity Surveying (1st Class Honours) from the University of Reading and started work in Davis Langdon & Seah as a Quantity Surveyor. He subsequently broadens his knowledge by reading a BSc in Technology and Computing (1st Class Honours), a MSc in Construction Law and Arbitration and a MSc in Sustainable Building Design (Merit). He subsequently attended the Senior Management Development Program from Harvard and also has a Diploma and a Certificate in Advance Learning and Performance for Adults from the Institute of Adult Learning at Singapore University of Social Science.

About the Chairperson

Mr. Anil Changaroth – Partner, RHTLaw Asia LLP; Council Member, Society of Construction Law (Singapore)

Anil is a Mediator, Arbitrator, Dispute Board, practices Appropriate Dispute Resolution with RHTLaw Asia.

He is a current Council Member of SCL Singapore and was its Chairman from 2012 – 2014.
